The formation of our organisation stemmed from our desire to support the welfare of the Australian business environment, as well as Australian Turkish business community. We specialise in assisting trade and investment enquiries in relation to Australia, Turkey and Asia Pacific countries. We hold strong ties with government bodies, leading corporations, prominent individuals and similar organisations across Australia, Turkey and Asia-Pacific countries.
We are further committed to increasing the bilateral trade between Australia and Turkey. The foreign trade volume between Australia and Turkey stands at a mere US$731mn (2006 figures) and hence offers significant growth potential.
SIAD has been welcomed by the Australian business community since foreign trade relations between Australia and Turkey have long been neglected and there has been a vital need for a dedicated organisation to improve links between these two countries.
Some of our primary objectives are to;
-
Contribute to the Australian economy by providing consultancy, networking, know-how and market research to market participants.
-
Promote Australian business internationally. Specific importance is to be given promoting bilateral trade and investment activities between Australia and Turkey. Through our extensive contacts in the Asia-Pacific region, we also provide a gateway service to countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
-
Recognise and promote the commercial interests of our members. Representation and advocacy of our members before the Australian and foreign governments, local or international business groups, chambers of commerce, chambers of trade and alike.
-
Ensure our members' integration with rest of the world by closely monitoring global economic developments.
-
Undertake a leading role in monitoring Australia's economic policies and providing responses to challenges and issuing appropriate recommendations for the continued development of our members on both the local and international level.
