Testimonials of TUSKON Attendees
Dr. Sam Toglaw
Robust Living Australia
Managing Director
This year I attended for the first time to TUSKON in Istanbul, the city of trade, business, food, history and tourism. In fact, I was impressed about the organisation and the amicable environment they maintained and the number of people who came from all over the world.
In a short period of time, I established contacts with people in Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle East as well as Turkey. Upon my arrival, I was picked up from the airport and dropped at the hotel and from there I joined my group in one of the most exciting tours in Istanbul. Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and MiniaTurk were unforgettable experiences.
The second day was the TUSKON opening day. It was very exciting specially that the Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan gave a very encouraging and uplifting speech in which he indicated that the careful monitoring of the recession and economical crisis is the way to be ahead of others when recession is over.
Indeed, he convinced all the attendants that Turkey has one of the most suitable climates for business and it is a real bridge of world trade between the east and the west .
My meetings with company representatives were very successful. I was hosted by "Bartech" a known Turkish manufacturer of ovens and bakery lines in Bursa. There, I saw the real industrial capital and had the chance to visit many factories including cars and automobiles.
There is something in Istanbul that attracts you to return to it again and again, that is the exquisite food, night shopping, and the great history of civilizations. For me the TUSKON experience was a very successful one. Although two months passed since I was in Turkey, I still receive calls and emails from many suppliers and manufacturers who have shown passion to do successful business. All in all, TUSKON was an joyful experience that I will repeat again and recommend to my business friends.

Managing Director
I was introduced to the Tuskon Turkey World Trade Bridge Program through SIAD Sydney Businessmen Association in Australia. Not knowing what to expect of both the trade fair and from Turkey, I was amazed by both the country and the great opportunity that business presented.
Representıng Ruomky Enterprises which operates a restaurant chain called Rashay's Cafe and Restaurant in Liverpool, I had the opportunity to have 30 one-on-one meetings with leading Turkish companies at the TUSKON summit. With a strong focus on halal food, I thought Turkey would be a great point of reference for our food. I also focused my business attention on restaurant furniture. For a separate business, I also made strong contacts in the beverage industry.
I deal with China at the moment however I have found the Turkish companies quite competitive on restaurant furniture pricing. Hence, I would consider dealing with Turkish companies in the future.
The networks created at the trade bridge program were far reaching and proved to be successful partnerships. The importance of the program were obvious with the Turkish Prime Minister opening the ceremony.
Istanbul was amazing on both a cultural and religious level. I was particularly impressed by the beauty and the size of this old basilica transformed into mosque called the Hagia Sophia. Anzac Cove and the Blue Mosque were also memorable highlights.
The hospitality of the Turkish people was only surpassed by the Australian partners who were both great hosts and tour guides. A trip I will long remember and recommend to many.

TUSKON 2009 was a great experience for my business as I had the opportunity to conduct around 100 one-on-one business meetings and visit 400 stands on display at the event.
Owing to the business connections established during the trade fair, we were taken to other industrial cities of Turkey following the trade fair. Our domestic travel expenses, accomodation and catering expenses were covered by TUSKON members on our visits to Izmir, Aydın, Konya, Mersin, Kayseri and Nigde. As a result of these meetings, my company struck deals with four different companies and we commenced importing goods to Australia.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the organisers; both TUSKON and SIAD.
